Few issues strike at the heart of the deep corruption of the U.S. government more than the influence of corporate lobbyists on policy and legislation. I am immensely impressed by Obama’s pledge to close the White House revolving door on former and future employers.

Along the ethics front, however, I’d like to hear more about election reform and safeguarding the integrity of our elections. This also strikes at the heart of the corruption of our government.

The ethics of the political world are very important and I am pleased that Senator Barack Obama is making this an important issue. I want to be able to trust my government again. I don't want to feel like I am being lied to. I don't want to feel like information is constantly being covered up. I want the truth from my government.

I think that public campaign financing would go a long way toward making campaigns about ideas instead of fund raising. Candidates shouldn't be allowed to take money from corporations, PACs, etc. Run on your ideas, not on attack ads paid for by Goldman Sachs or Exxon.

I'd also like to see a spot on the ballot where we can vote for "none of the above."

Real campaign reform, not just tinkering. Total publice financing. Give each candidate running for a givin office exactly the same amout of money and allow them to spend not one dime more than that amount and if they do they are taken out of the running. If a friend or other entity gives them space to use or whatever that should be charged to their spending account according to an independently determined fair market value. There could be a firm oversight committee.

Do not let the media decide who can speak and who cannot.

Also let's do some sort of instant runoff voting so that we can vote for the candidate we really like without losing our vote.
